My Supergirl...the top/cape was commissioned from Loreen at Graphica Designs, and I did the skirt and belt myself. The skirt is just a simple circle with a waistband and belt loops added. My husband did the leather belt and colored it with Cova paint that is now flaking. In retrospect we should have used NuLife, but it's signed by Helen Slater now so there's no way I'm respraying it. The boots are spandex socks with a house slipper in them for form and thick bits of leather glued to the bottom to make a split sole.

Now that I've honed my spandex skills a little more, I'm working on remaking the whole thing from scratch. I love this suit, but I'm always happier when I can say I've made the whole thing top to bottom. Some of the things I plan to change are: 1) Making the "S" a bit smaller, 2) Making the yellow trim wider, and 3) Cutting the cape a little bit fuller. I'm also keeping the skirt shorter. As you can tell from looking at the photos, the skirt used to be quite a bit longer. I was a little nervous wearing this when I first made it and the skirt came about 3/4 of the way to my knees! I've gotten a little more confident and have been slowly taking bits off the hem for 3 years now, and I think I've finally gotten it where it should be. LOL I still feel a little self-conscious wearing it this short, but I must admit that it makes my torso and legs look longer, more like the comic proportions.

I also have to say how much I like the idea of this thread! When I first made this suit I could only find one other out there for inspiration, and now the more Supergirls I encounter, the more ideas I get for improving my own suit!
