Yeah, those Dodson sculpted armor pieces are beautiful, I saved those images from that thread as well.

On the subject of the "impractical" Alex Ross WW armor design....I'd like to submit that the metal the Amazons used to craft it is impenetrable AND flexible. I mean, if they can come up with a invisible jet it's not too difficult to imagine they can craft flexible, lightweight wearable metal armor. Of course, in our real world of costuming you still risk impaling your lungs or genitalia while wearing the Ross armor, I'll give ya' that!

I was always sorry you didn't bring it to DC the following year. I would have loved to have seen it in person in all its glory

Are those sculpted pieces resin or metal? And did the guy die because of it, or some other reason? ;) Those are great! I was asked to make some armor that is similiar, using my method, but no way will it come out as perfect as those.

Hey guys...yeah those pieces are sculpted and cast in resin. Then they sent them and had them chromed. They do look amazing don't they! I believe the artist working on them had a car accident or something. A tragedy. I believe he worked in Hollywood as a special effects artist.

Frank...I don't think I would wear my WW at DC! Anyone who knows me knows I am pretty much out there 100%, but not sure how comfortable I am wearing that in a place like that....hmmmm

Brett's belt is amazing. He did such a fine job on it, and what I loved the most is the details. You have to see to believe!

AS far as that Ross armour goes, I still have to stick to me belief that it just doesn't look right as far as scale goes. It is just too big to me.

My wife, Vickie has been doing an Alex Ross inspired Wonder for the Past five years.

Debuted - San Diego Comic Con 2004
Current version after tweaking -San Diego Comic Con 2006
Tiara- Brass Kick plate from Home Depot Dremmeled by me
Breast Plate & belt- Leather with Metallic vinyl by me
Bustier - Red silk satin sewn by Vickie
Bottoms - Blue stretch satin with embroidered applique stars by Vickie
Boots - custom made by Duran Shoes to our specs, red suede leather with smooth white leather trim
Guantlets - Hollywood Wig and Costume
Earings - Some wedding store....??? (hope we don't lose them)
Lasso - JoAnn's Fabrics trim department
Tights - Danskins ultra shimmery toast

You were absolutely fantastic at D*C Roz!! I loved your Wonder Woman :)

I'm actually looking to upgrade my armor, do you know if Dale takes commissions?

Here is my most recent WW outfit, based on the Terry Dodson current design. All of this made by me, including the patterns for the bustier and the briefs. I even cut out and applied my own stars, they're slightly larger than the typical printed fabric stars, and they are WAY bigger than the applique stars I used on the last WW I made. I'm hoping the client this was made for will send pics.

The top has since been made into a corset (for Wondie, not scrapped completely of course) but this was for Free Comic Book Day so we kinda had to rush it. Also have a better belt and somewhere I have her lasso of truth, I just forgot it that day.

Also, funny story (well, funny now anyway). On my way to FCBD, I got into a teensy fender bender with a woman who had just that day bought her new BMW. Turned out to be nothing huge, just a tiny scratch I could have put there with my foot, but we still had to pull over in bumper to bumper traffic and get out to exchange information, and I, of course, was in complete Wonder Woman garb. Was beeped and waved at while I'm writing all my information down. Wasn't as funny at the time, but looking back it's pretty funny. That makes the only two times I've ever had to pull over for something serious as both in costume. (The other time, a cop pulled me over coming back from Halloween in Poison Ivy. I was let off with a warning.

My husband fixed the chestpiece on my version from last year. He's got more to do to it, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. I wore it at MidSouthCon this past weekend.
