Love that last photo, ElizabethAmber, especially the way the wind caught your wig a bit!
Here's my Alex Ross based version..
And with my older wig... ![]()
Should I just stick all of my WW costumes in here? I'll delete/move these if need be :) Kingdom Come Armor

You've both done such great version of Wonder Woman! It's always wonderful to see how other people interpret the character! I also LOVE your Kingdom
Come armour Kell! There's actually some artwork now depicting Donna, Diana and Cassie all in the Hawk armour, but with differing designs based upon their
individual characteristics! I really want to do the Silver Donna version!
Anywho, back to Wonder Woman! I did the Terry Dodson version (Almost all of the Heroes I have planned will be based upon his artwork!), and I tell you what, that belt is a challenge! I still need to fix up her bracers, and I want to make a new tiara, proper lasoo hook and a red cape. But otherwise, I'm very pleased with how it turned out! ![]() ![]() ![]()
There are a number of other variants I hope to do, which I'll add as I get them done! :D |

Here is Kim's costume. Other than the sword and boots, we pretty much made the entire thing. She wants to redo the cape at some point, but with the 3rd kid
on the way, she's not exactly in a hurry to suit back up. :)

A Wonder Tot on the way? Yay!
I love the Ami-Comi too. Kelldar's stuff blows my mind all the time. Last Chael, I think you have the best golden eagle I've ever seen (and I've studied a gazillion pictures). Dodson rules! |

thank you guys! :)
Got another WW version I'm doing for Dcon (hopefully) - and also remaking the Ame-Comi chest piece and belt (don't know if that will be done in time for dragoncon, though.)

Awww thanks Beth! I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out! It actually wasn't all that difficult once I broke it down into the various parts!
Hopefully I can get my Wonder Circe Dragon to look just as good ;)
And I have to agree, Kell's stuff is always so inspirational! I am hoping to do the Ame-comi WW one day (Though I also want to do the Cheetah and Zatanna from that range too!)! And hopefully I can do the Elseworld's WW woman next year! And Diana Prince (got the lycra already!). :P |

Well since I see the figure the version I made was based on in Brian's last pic, I'll post some pics of it.
Debuted - MegaCon 2009 Tiera - Styrene with Resin star Breast Plate - resin Belt, bracers, shin guards - Styrene Bustier - from Wal Mart (no really) Skirt - Lycra with pleather stars. Shield - garbage can lid. Sword - Store bought
Oh and Kelldar, the Kingdom Come and Anime version are out of this world. Love to hear how they were done. Not that I want to copy them. Just when you make costumes, the second thing you say after, "Wow, that looks great." is, "How'd you do it."

Mike, I promise you as soon as I get home from out of town I'm going to finish up a certain prop you wanted for Kim's costume. I have painted it 3
times and everytime I pull the tape on the central design, the tape pulls the paint off. My wife took it from me cause........ lets just say the neighbors
could hear me from my basement cussing up a storm. I bought a new paint to try so hopefully if all goes well I will have it for you soon.

elizabethamber wrote: thx E. The cape (actually the entire cos) has a story. Lynda Carter had her original costume pieces copied via "cad" systems .That means it was mapped out like a blueprint. I was able to have those for a bit and the entire costume was a perfect copy (ok a little bigger!!! LOL) of hers in the TV series. That cape is the best part. It is huge. The stars are all embroidered and there are 3 different sizes. Each star has a sequin and seed pearl in the center hand stitched. I actually replaced the seed pearls recently with rhinestones for more punch and theatrics. I had it made by my seamstress up here. The boots I had custom made by Caboots. They are showstoppers.Hand made in red suede and white leather. Awesome. The upgrade of the skirt is a copy of the TV skirt Lynda wore maybe once. Our own Brian made it. Believe it or not that was one of the hardest things to get done! I had it done by two people before Brian came through with perfection. Thanks Brian!!! I have never been a fan of that Alex Ross Wonder Woman. To me the armour just is wrong and way off. U could never wear that realistically. You would impale urself! The scale is all wrong to me. My other peeve is the boots most wear. I think it must be a standard boot they make and is easily available. The heel is wrong and i am not a fan of patent leather. That said...all u gals look awesome! I love it all. The anime is amazing...all of u make the amazon princess proud!

That's a really cool story Ray! I had no idea! It certainly looks very accurate, but I didn't realise just HOW accurate! Though originally WW was only
5 foot 8! But then again, when she was created that was tall for a woman :P You certainly have the advantage with height! :D
I also have to agree with you on the Alex Ross version. From experience the Terry Dodson belt is bad enough (I always end up with scratches on my thighs when I sit down!) but the Alex Ross one is just crazy! Plus it just doesn't appeal to me visually, there's just too much of the armour, without it actually being armour. That's not to say that I don't admire those who've done his version! It looks very difficult to do, so hat's off to those who manage it! There are just so many different version of Diana out there! It's really cool to see! Of course I'm a Dodson fan, so I'm sticking with his artworks :P Oh and about the boots, yeah, they're the standard ones available (I think from Pleaser). Personally, I hate flat boots. My doctor has actually banned me from ever wearing flat shoes, so I have to have shoes with a heel. I'm not a fan of these boots, but until I can save up to have some specially made from leather, I'll keep wearing them. Though I must admit that I don't mind the extra 3 inches in height they give me! Wearing them, I'm about the same height as most males :P But I'm always on the lookout for a pair of red (or white) leather boots that I can modify! But they're a rarity (or super expensive) here down under!

Ray you're almost right about the impaling with the armor. The Styrene belt for my wife's costume almost stabbed her in the chin and the ya-ya the
first time she tried to sit in it.

LOL the only time I've had a problem with mine was when a drunk person grabbed my wrist at Dragoncon and forced the metal edge into the top of my hand.
I've learned to move around in mine pretty well, but my husband is working on new armor for (did I say that already? I have no idea). We did a bodycast a
few weeks ago so he can sculpt stuff that actually fits, for my regular WW, the anime one, and for the new one I'm working on for Dragoncon.
(and I'm too short to not wear the heeled boots! LOL)

Mine is arguably a little more practical because it's styrene, so it's lightweight and not sharp. In fact, Theresa, who is a bartender at one of our
biggest local night clubs, wore it to work on Halloween night this past year and had no problem slingin' the sauce. In fact, the belt hook doubled as a
holder for her bottle opener.
I like the attached belt because it
reminds me of the WW from Super Friends. I agree with Ray about the boots though, the chunky heel is just wrong. I would almost rather have no heel at all.
BUT, for the price, those go-go boots are fantastic. And yes, I got some for my WW. I couldn't have done much better for the same price, and it saved me a
lot of time too, so that = win.
She did manage to wear the tiara upside down, but that was the first time she had to dress herself, so she's kinda forgiven.

Yeah...I have to say i am a true Amazon!!!1 LOL
I think the DC guidelines put Wonder Woman at about 5' 10". In the book "New Frontier" Darwyn Cook had her taller than Superman so that would have her at over 6'4"! Lynda is about 5'8.5". I agree, I never liked the flat boot that she was given. Looks clunky with that gathering and all. She looks best in a heel. Lynda wore a 3-4 inch cowboy undercut heel on her boot. I think that is what looks best on her. Those go go boots just need a different style heel is all. U can have that heel taken off by a good cobbler and replaced with an undercut style one. The belt...Terry Dodson's WW is great! I had that belt done in leather by a great guy Brett from the LOH (we miss him) But boy that design is tough to wear. The points constantly bend. I have a traditional belt as well. I think I agree that with the Ross design there is just too much armour for daily wear! Over at the RPF there was a thread (search Danika McKellar) where Danika (Winnie from Wonder Years) wanted to do WW for Halloween. She had some amazing sculpts done for the Dodson version. Here is a pic of the pieces...(hope its of to post)...
She had a body cast done so it would fit right. If you go over to the RPF and type in her name in the search you can see the whole thread. It never got finished due to the sculptors death but worth reading. She would have looked great! |
