Thanks so much Kell! :D The main reason I did this costume was for the hair :P I've been doing my hair in victory rolls for years now, but I struggled with the fringe! Hopefully next time I wear it my hair will be long enough to roll the back up too! The dress was a lot simpler than I thought it would be! I've been meaning to write up a tutorial of sorts for how I made it all because I've been contacted by a number of people about how I did it :D

I'm afraid I can't give you tips on the wig since I use my own hair. The dress I draped on a dress form to get the right look. The cut edge goes straight down the front and the selvedge goes from the neck around and under the arms with a Centre Back seam. There's a lot of fabric in it, and I just distribute it when I put on the cincher. Though the original actually has darts or tucks in it to keep the fabric in place. The hem is cut on the bias, so I used a small zigzag and stretched as I went to get the lettuce look on the edge.

As for what I wear underneath:


The corset I made from my favourite Simplicity pattern (5006). It's not exactly accurate to the one she wears (which has bust cups and garters) but it's close enough, so I'm pretty happy with it. I wear a dancers tights, suspender belt and plain black briefs. The original briefs  have netting on the sides.
