Here is my husband's Green Arrow. This costume was quite the accomplishment for me considering the most sewing I'd ever done before this was limited to adding fabric accents and mending. So sewing his tunic from scratch without a sewing machine is something I'm quite proud of. The fabric for the tunic is vinyl, which was slightly heavy and doesn't breathe well but at least it looked cool. The shirt is a modified store bought shirt and the pants were from E-Bay. The boots were work boots painted with acrylic paint and then with added vinyl straps. And my husband made the bow himself with a branch he found in the woods near our apartment and some pretty inexpensive tools from the hardware store.

The first thing we did in costume was go to get Justin Hartley (aka Smallville's Green Arrow) and Phil Morris' autographs. As soon as we walked in the room at the end of the line, Justin stopped signing the autograph he was working on and exclaimed "oh that's awesome!" and pulled out his camera phone and told his wife "you have to get a picture of them!" So even the real deal live action Green Arrow loved Thomas' costume. That was pretty awesome

There are still improvements I'd like to make so this is on the list to get upgraded one of these days. But all in all it's a good start I think.





Mike Norton (artist on Green Arrow and Black Canary) was also pretty psyched to see us.

Steal away! PM me if you have any questions about how we made it. I also thought the full sized one just seemed too impractical. And our boxing glove arrow was a big hit, so we didn't get any complaints about the smaller size!
