Congrats! So where did you place in the costume contest and what prizes did you receive? And I'm dying to know what the black material you used on the costume is- it's just perfect, and the edges look flawless.

I placed 2nd in the marvel costume contest with no hard feelings because Ruby Rocket won first with her Female Loki which was just Amazing as you can see.

I got a free shirt, cap and a variant uncanny # 217 X-man comic as prizes. The funny thing was the shirt was an Extra large and the hat was too small for my head. Was able to exchange the shirt for a small but was unable to switch the hat, but no big deal, I gave it to a friend. I'm very glad you like the black material. I wanted to make sure the black popped out from the regular red spandex and so went with what you see. Sadly I don't know the name of the material. I got the idea from Maggie at Costumesforfun from her Dragonfly costume, asked her to send me a costume with the material so I could look for it in the fabric district in LA. Found something pretty close and the guy said it was something like artificial leather but the color is metallic blak

Id love to hear more about how the helmet got made. Last I heard we were at cardboard and possible bondo. What's the black material? What's the mouthpiece made from? Inquiring costumers want to know :)

The helmet was actually done by Kelly at KMD because my own attempt failed. My helmet was turning out way to bulky and weird. I'm actually trying to convert it into a racketeer helmet. Kelly loved the idea of doing the helmet because he loves Jack Kirby costumes. Kelly made a cast of my head and then layered it with foam squares. The cylinders are bull horns and the mouth piece is a pvc pipe with a screen underneath. And the antennas are wooden sticks with a small ball at the end. Fits great but I can only wear it for about two hours before it starts to hurt my ears from the tight fit.

Hope that answerd everyones questions. Becuse of th ehuge success of this costume I am very interested in doing a yellow jacket. keep the compliments comming I'm not shy
